We are seeking a high potential, results-oriented Senior Accountant to perform routine and complex financial accounting activities in support of Spectrum Safety Solutions’ HQ functional activities. This position will drive process improvements and provide support to management for effective business decisions while ensuring the appropriate accounting is applied and internal controls are in place. Responsible for reconciliations and balance sheet reviews within area of responsibility.
Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis. This position is located in Stamford, CT on-site.
- Perform and support monthly close related activities in a timely manner
- Prepare and ensure accurate journal entries, miscellaneous invoices, financial statements, and account reconciliations
- Reconcile sub-ledgers to general ledgers
- Assist with ensuring bills are paid and recorded in a timely and accurate manner
- Analyze monthly results to ensure accurate reporting for each accounting period
- Work closely with business partners and support external related audits
- Develop process efficiencies and make improvements to assigned accounting processes
- Assist with travel related procedures, including reconciling corporate card expenses
- Maintain appropriate internal controls
- Participate in ad-hoc tasks/projects as needed
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 5-7 years experience
- Self-motivated, able to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- MBA, CPA/CMA
- JD Edwards (JDE) and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) system knowledge
