We’re looking for an experienced construction accounting professional who thrives on ownership, accuracy, and accountability. You will oversee our full-cycle accounting operations, including job costing, progress billing, and financial reporting.

As our projects grow in complexity, so must our financial systems. This role is critical to maintaining accuracy, visibility, and long-term stability.

• Has strong construction accounting experience
• Understands job costing and progress billing
• Is comfortable closing books independently
• Enjoys working with structured systems and financial detail
• Takes ownership and operates with high accountability
• Communicates clearly with project managers and leadership

• Manage general ledger and chart of accounts
• Perform month-end and year-end close
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts
• Maintain accurate financial records

• Prepare and manage progress billing, including public works projects
• Track job costs, labor allocation, and purchase orders
• Manage retainage and change order billing
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate billing and documentation
• Support certified payroll and compliance documentation as needed

• Oversee AR and 30-day commercial accounts
• Track collections and maintain aging reports
• Process vendor payments and maintain clean payables records

• Prepare internal financial statements
• Assist with job profitability tracking
• Provide cost visibility and reporting to leadership
• Support CPA and tax preparation process

• Maintain organized, audit-ready records
• Improve accounting workflows and documentation
• Support internal controls and process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• 5+ years of experience in construction or project-based accounting required
• Experience with job costing and progress billing required
• Experience with public works or contract-based billing preferred
• Proficient in Quick Books and Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to close books independently
• High personal accountability and ability to manage multiple priorities
