About the Role:
Make a real difference every day in the lives of students with special needs!
As part of our Blue Horizons team, you will work closely with teachers to support students with sensory, behavioral, and learning needs in a safe and nurturing environment.
Pay Rate:
Starting at $19/hour+ (based on experience & certifications)
Schedule:
Mon-Fri, 5.5-6 hours/day
Type:
Full-Time, Part-Time, Substitute, Long-Term
Setting:
Multiple public school campuses
Training:
All required certifications (including AB1172) are fully paid by us

- Support students in classrooms and activities
- Assist with toileting and daily routines when needed
- Provide tutoring for individuals or small groups
- Monitor student progress and behavior
- Use de-escalation techniques (training provided)
- Assist teachers with materials, lesson prep, and light clerical tasks
- Supervise during lunch, playground, or field trips
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure a safe learning environment
- Passionate, patient, and reliable individuals who want to help students succeed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; child development coursework is a plus
- BT certification required for Behavioral Technician role (Instructional Aide positions available without it)
- Experience with children with special needs is a bonus - but not required (we train you!)
- Must pass TB test
