Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instructional services to K–12 students (primarily TK–8 for this district) under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator. This role actively participates in planning and implementing individualized student programs, including specialized instruction, classroom support, and consultation with general education staff.

Pay Rates Local Candidates
  • $60–$65/hr
  • Weekly gross: $2,250–$2,437
Travel Candidates
  • Hourly Pay: $18/hr
  • Meals Per Diem: $500–$644/week
  • Housing Per Diem: $1,325–$1,435/week
  • Weekly Pay Package: $2,500–$2,754
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
  • Valid State Teaching Certificate as required by the state/district
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Standard Elementary Teaching
    • Standard Secondary Teaching
    • Standard Special Teaching
    • LBS1 endorsement preferred
  • CA Mild/Moderate (M/M) Credential required
  • Minimum one year teaching experience preferred
  • CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB test (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray)
  • Health certificate as required
  • Must meet all local, state, and federal requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
