Behavioral Technician (BT) – School Based
Blue Horizons is seeking compassionate, dependable, and professional Behavioral Technicians (BTs) to support students with special needs in local public schools throughout Santa Maria.
We welcome applicants from Santa Maria, Orcutt, Guadalupe, Nipomo, Lompoc, Arroyo Grande, and surrounding communities.
As a Behavioral Technician, you will work closely with certificated teachers and school staff to provide individualized support to students with behavioral, sensory, emotional, and learning needs. You will help create a safe, structured, and positive environment where students can learn, grow, and succeed.

Position DetailsPay Rate: $23.75–$25.75 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, Day Shift, approximately 5.5–6.5 hours per day

Required
Certifications:
BT Certification and CPI Certification are required for the Behavioral Technician role.
AB1172 Certification:
Selected applicants must obtain AB1172 Certification. AB1172 training and certification costs are paid by Blue Horizons.

What You'll DoAs a Behavioral Technician, you will provide direct support to students and assist the classroom team with daily educational and behavioral needs.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BT Certification required.
- CPI Certification required.
- Prior experience working with children or students with special needs is preferred.
- Experience in behavioral support, education, ABA, special education, childcare, or a related field is a plus.
- Coursework in child development, psychology, education, special education, or a related field is a plus.
- Must be able to pass required background screening.
- Must provide required health documentation, including TB documentation.
- Must be willing and able to complete required AB1172 training and certification.
- Experience is valued, but the right attitude, dependability, compassion, and willingness to learn are equally important to us.

- Basic knowledge of reading, writing, math, and other academic subjects.
- Ability to operate standard classroom and office equipment.
