Job Summary

General

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Sales Manager and with indirect supervision from an assigned Project Manager(s), this position coordinates all technical activities on assigned projects. The role ensures effective communication and coordination among all disciplines, project team members, external customers and vendors. You will work on multi‑million dollar commercial MEP projects, developing skills in estimating, scheduling and design within the design‑build construction process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to keep them informed on all issues affecting project timeline and budget.
  • Provide interpretation of plans and specifications.
  • Assemble complete submittal packages and other required project documentation.
  • Participate in selection and hiring of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Assist the Project Manager with take‑off, estimating, change directive pricing, job cost forecasting, billings, close‑out documentation, prospecting, and new bid support.
  • Assist the Project Manager in writing proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, and other documents related to project execution.
  • Utilize ACCO standard Engineering technologies and provide technical support for the construction effort, including planning and design, interpretation of the design, value engineering and alternate solution reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department regarding scope, price, submittals and delivery for purchased items and coordinate installation procedures among Engineering, Construction and other stakeholders.
  • Manage job progress onsite as required, leveraging design expertise in a hands‑on capacity to solve emergent operational and installation challenges.
  • Oversee and process daily administrative items (i.e., Document Control, RFIs, Dailies, POs, MOPs, submittals, procurement logs) per Project Manager’s direction.
  • Coordinate project personnel activities to ensure the project progresses on schedule and on budget, tracking labor, material and deliveries.
  • Escalate potential problems and assist the Project Manager in driving solutions to complete resolution.
  • Maintain, develop and grow viable relationships with customers, prime contractors, trade partners, subcontractors, suppliers and trade personnel.
  • Attend job kick‑off, progress, foreman and OAC meetings.
  • Interface with installers, suppliers and subcontractors to provide information, direction and detailed instructions.
  • Manage subcontractors to meet project expectations.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor and/or upper management.
Position Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities)
  • BS in Engineering;
    Mechanical concentration strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating, design and prosecution of HVAC projects, ideally with field/construction site experience.
  • High sense of integrity.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written business communication skills, including proactive listening.
  • Regular and routine attendance.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 20 pounds.
  • Required close and distance vision.
  • Regular standing, use of hands, fingers or arms to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Regular walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling as needed.
  • Occasional reach above shoulder height to access storage cabinets and mail cubicles.
Hours

This is a non‑exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours begin and end between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm, with one hour for lunch. Eight hours per day are required; occasional overtime may be necessary due to business needs.

Travel

As required to and from the assigned office location to regional branch offices and/or project/customer site(s).
