Senior Field Engineering Manager

Beagle Technology is looking for a Field Engineering Lead to own the technical execution and troubleshooting of our equipment in real-world field environments.

This is a highly hands-on role for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys being close to the equipment and solving problems where they actually happen. You will work closely with deployment teams, engineers, technicians, operators, manufacturing teams, and customers to ensure our machines perform reliably in the field.

Beyond resolving immediate issues, you will connect field experience back to engineering and manufacturing. You will identify recurring problems, lead root cause analysis, communicate findings clearly, and help ensure lessons from the field result in better designs, manufacturing processes, and future machines.

• Work directly in the field alongside deployment teams, technicians, engineers, and machine operators.
• Support equipment deployments, field testing, demonstrations, commissioning, and ongoing customer operations.
• Ensure machines are properly prepared, configured, tested, and ready before deployment.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership during field operations.
• Coordinate with engineering and operations teams when additional technical support is required.
• Help develop field procedures, troubleshooting processes, maintenance standards, and escalation protocols.

• Serve as a key technical escalation point when equipment does not perform as expected.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, sensor, integration, and operational issues.
• Determine whether failures originate from design, components, manufacturing, assembly, software/controls, maintenance, operating procedures, or field conditions.
• Lead structured root cause analysis for recurring and high-impact problems.
• Develop practical short-term solutions when needed while driving toward permanent corrective actions.
• Document problems, operating conditions, findings, fixes, and follow-up actions.

• Translate field observations and failures into clear, actionable information for engineering teams.
• Provide context around failure modes, operating conditions, frequency, severity, and operational impact.
• Identify patterns across deployments rather than treating every field issue as an isolated problem.
• Work with engineering teams to reproduce and resolve field failures.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback based on real-world reliability, serviceability, maintainability, and operator experience.
• Help prioritize engineering improvements based on field and customer impact.

• Bring field findings back to engineering and manufacturing teams and help identify necessary corrective actions.
• Identify manufacturing, assembly, component, quality, or design issues contributing to field failures.
• Recommend improvements to machine design, component selection, assembly processes, quality control, and serviceability.
• Work with manufacturing teams to ensure corrective actions are incorporated into future builds.
• Validate engineering and manufacturing changes in real-world field conditions.
• Help establish a strong closed-loop process from field issue -> root cause -> corrective action -> field validation

• Provide technical guidance to field technicians, deployment personnel, and machine operators.
• Help technicians develop stronger troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
• Develop troubleshooting guides, maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and field best practices.
• Establish clear escalation paths between field teams and engineering.
• Help improve the overall technical capability and consistency of field operations as the organization grows.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering
