Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an Advance Practice Registered Nurse prepared at the master's or doctorate level and is certified as a CNS with the California Board of Registered Nursing. The CNS is part of the leadership team and collaborates with members of their team to provide and influence optimal patient care and service in their patient population. The CNS demonstrates competencies within the three spheres of influence: patient/family, nursing practice, and the organization.
The CNS encompasses the following roles: clinical expert, consultant, leader, educator, evidence-based practice advocate, inter- and intradepartmental liaison, and resource professional. The CNS educates and guides the nursing staff and health‑care team members in the provision of patient care, consistent with the California Nursing Practice Act, nursing scope and standards of practice, and MRMC Code of Conduct.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. You will collaborate on comprehensive screenings, conduct critical risk assessments, provide vital preventative health education, and coordinate care for diverse patient populations.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- Three years of clinical experience in neonatal nursing care, including at least one year in a NICU equivalent to a regional or Community NICU.
- Current California Registered Nurse License (CA RN)
- Clinical Nurse Specialist Core (CNS‑BC) certification
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS‑CPR)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Stable Program (STBL) preferred

Pay Range$46.89 – $68.77 per hour
