Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Santa Maria Post Acute in Santa Maria, CA. As a Registered Nurse on our subacute unit, you will provide direct and indirect care to our residents, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized plans of care. Responsibilities/Duties
  • Provide direct, age-specific resident care to assigned residents, incorporating functional and developmental age factors into the assessment process

  • Complete initial and ongoing assessments, differentiating between normal and abnormal clinical findings, and intervening in accordance with clinical standards of practice and physician orders

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, working collaboratively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team

  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in the implementation and evaluation of the nursing aspects of interdisciplinary resident care plans

  • Administer medications, treatments, and provide care and management of technologically dependent residents

  • Provide treatment administration, including wound care, ostomy care, enteral feeding tubes, and suctioning

  • Maintain knowledge of and demonstrate the ability to identify therapeutic resident care issues and determine measures and interventions to promote resident health

  • Respect resident rights, maintain dignity, and allow for privacy and confidentiality in the provision of care

Requirements
  • Current, valid Registered Nurse licensure to practice in the State of California

  • Current BCLS certification

  • RN graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an associate's degree

  • At least six months prior RN experience in a general acute care hospital setting, or acquired equivalent competency

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
