We are seeking a versatile Accounting, Bookkeeping & Payroll Manager to oversee our financial and operational compliance ecosystem. This role will lead full-cycle accounting, manage payroll, track multi-year production costs, and head our annual property tax filings. This position will work full-time from our Santa Monica, CA office.
What You'll Be Doing:- Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and profitability reports.
- Prepare data for local, state, and federal tax returns and other CPA data requests.
- Oversee reconciliation of all ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, and bank statements.
- Manage the full cycle close process, including accruals, deferrals, and journal entries.
- Supervise, train, and review the work of junior bookkeepers or accounting clerks.
- Distribute direct and indirect overhead costs to specific products or departments.
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing (bi-weekly) for regular, seasonal employees using a payroll processing platform.
- Oversee the submission of payroll taxes, W-2s and 1099s.
- File accurate business property statements annually with California county assessors.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Finance.
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams).
- Advanced knowledge of accounting/billing systems software, especially Quick Books.
- Advanced communication, customer service and organizational skills.
- CPA/tax preparation experience a plus but not required.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 a year
Note: This is a full-time in-office role in Santa Monica, CA. A remote or hybrid work schedule will not be considered.
