Staff Accountant

A growing Fin Tech company in Santa Monica is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team on a contract-to-hire basis. This individual will support month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience with ERP systems. Net Suite experience is highly preferred.

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Support AP, AR, and cash management functions.
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits.
• Analyze financial data and research accounting variances.
• Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc projects.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Santa Monica.
