Alpha School is building an AI‑powered reading program that reshapes how early literacy is taught. You'll facilitate brief, high‑impact workshops rather than conventional hour‑long classroom sessions. You will assess student needs, develop original evidence‑based lessons independently, and contribute to adaptive tools that extend your expertise to hundreds of learners. This position requires reading specialists who operate effectively without fixed curricula and are ready to advance scalable literacy solutions.

• Facilitating adaptive reading workshops focused on building core competencies in phonics, fluency, and comprehension
• Creating personalized motivational experiences that engage students and foster a lasting enthusiasm for reading
• Examining student performance data to iteratively improve your methods and identify actionable trends
• Working alongside the technology team to assess and refine AI‑based literacy platforms

• Following pre‑packaged curricula or publisher‑provided scope‑and‑sequence plans

Cultivate a passion for reading in young students

• Bachelor’s degree
• Master’s degree or advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of experience conducting small‑group reading interventions with early elementary learners
• Capable of evaluating reading levels, forming student groups, and creating differentiated instruction without reliance on pre‑written materials
• Experienced with AI/adaptive learning platforms and able to respond to student behavior patterns within those systems
• Authorized to work legally in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
• Available to work on‑site at one of our locations:

This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
