Cornell Extern Program
Cornell Extern Program is open to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors from all undergraduate colleges. It's an opportunity for students to explore their career options while still in college. Winter externships are offered during January and February.
Externships can last from one day to one week. Eligible students will find externships available in numerous career fields and geographic locations around the world. The externships do not include pay or college credit. Students will be responsible for all expenses, including travel and housing.
Externships can include shadowing, interviewing company colleagues, touring the facilities, and may at times include a brief project. The main objective of externships is to give students a short preview of the company and the job. About 96 percent of students who apply will receive a placement.

Students are encouraged to research positions and companies carefully and apply early in order to choose an externship that will provide them with the best overall experience.

New York-Presbyterian Hospital ExternshipsNew York-Presbyterian Hospital Externships are for nursing students currently enrolled in a BSN program. Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge.
Positions are offered as a Nursing Attendant, Nursing Companion or Summer Nurse Externship. All are part‑time nursing positions for nursing students.
UCLA Health Nursing Summer Externship Program offers work experience to nursing students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year of nursing school. The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital licants can choose two specialty areas for their externship.
