Middle School Substitute Teacher
New Roads School is seeking a part-time Middle school substitute teacher to cover courses for specified periods when the regular teacher is unavailable. The substitute teacher is a part-time temporary employee that is called on an as-need basis.
Essential Duties- Ensure the continuation of the instructional program in the absence of the regular teacher, following the regular teacher's lesson plans
- Maintain a professional attitude in the classroom
- Experience working in various schools
- Ability to communicate with a diverse audience
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university required
- Passion for education and prior teaching experience with 6th-8th grades
- Desire and ability to work effectively with colleagues
- Enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude
- Ability to provide supervision and follow instructions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong classroom management skills
Other requirements include a Live Scan background check and Tuberculosis clearance before working.
The hourly rate for this part-time role is $25 per hour.
