PositionDescription:
The Level 1 Enrichment Teacher collaborates with other Teachers to implement and manage culinary-based educational enrichment programs and cooking classes. This role involves supporting instructional activities, preparing materials, and providing individualized attention to students to foster a dynamic and engaging learning environment centered around cooking and culinary arts. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, education majors, youth program leaders, camp counselors, coaches, and individuals who enjoy helping children learn through hands-on experiences.
This is not just an assistant role. Level 1 Teachers are active classroom leaders responsible for helping manage student engagement, classroom behavior, lesson execution, and overall classroom success. Successful teachers are dependable, adaptable, and comfortable taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.
You will play an important role in creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment where students can safely explore cooking, build confidence, and develop life skills.

- Review lesson plans weekly in advance
- Watch weekly recorded training videos
- Attend pre-semester teacher training sessions
- Communicate proactively with the Enrichments Manager or supervisors as needed for support
- Prepare classroom materials and food efficiently
- Distribute materials or handouts before class ends
- Manage student behavior, engagement, and classroom flow
- Teach and reinforce kitchen safety and basic cooking skills
- Report in-class incidents promptly using incident reports
- Submit feedback after each class
- You prefer highly structured work with constant supervision
- You are uncomfortable leading or managing groups of children
- You struggle with consistent attendance or communication
- You are not interested in receiving feedback and growing as an educator
- Experience working with children in a leadership, instructional, or support role
- Ability to effectively manage and engage a group of students in an active, hands-on environment
- Strong communication skills and a high level of reliability
- Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and continuously improve
- Must pass a background check and Live Scan
- TB clearance required
- Availability during after-school hours (typically between 2:00 PM–6:00 PM)
- Class length varies from 2 hours to 6 hours a day, depending on location
- Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule throughout the semester
- We work with school and schedules change with seasonality
- Ability to review lesson plans and training materials prior to classes
- Ability to lift classroom supplies and equipment up to 35 pounds
