Reports to:
Middle School Director
New Roads School is seeking a part‑time Middle School substitute teacher to cover courses for specified periods when the regular teacher is unavailable. The substitute teacher is a part‑time temporary employee called on an as‑need basis.
Essential Duties- Ensure the continuation of the instructional program in the absence of the regular teacher, following the regular teacher's lesson plans
- Maintain a professional attitude in the classroom
- Bring experience working in various schools
- Communicate effectively with a diverse audience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university required
- Passion for education and prior teaching experience with 6th–8th grades
- Desire and ability to work effectively with colleagues
- Enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude
- Ability to provide supervision and follow instructions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong classroom management skills
- Live Scan background check and Tuberculosis clearance required before working
Hourly rate: $25 per hour.
