AVP, Alternatives Manager Research; Secondaries

Role Overview

Wilshire, which advises on over $1 trillion in assets for institutional investors and has been providing customized portfolio solutions for more than 50 years, is hiring an AVP for its Alternatives Manager Research team. The role is a key member of deal teams, leading research and due diligence across all Alternatives segments with an emphasis on private markets (private equity, private credit, real assets) in North America, particularly secondaries.

• Source and underwrite opportunities across primary funds, secondaries, and co-investments; draft investment memorandums
• Develop and maintain relationships with private fund managers across the region; lead manager meetings and diligence calls
• Conduct market and manager research to identify attractive opportunities; prepare ad hoc reports to support decision-making
• Monitor existing investments and contribute to periodic reviews, performance updates, and risk assessments
• Enhance research processes and methodologies; stay current on industry trends and regulatory developments
• Support client communications and presentations

• Bachelor's degree; MBA or CFA a plus
• 5 years of experience in private equity, with direct secondaries experience strongly preferred
• Excellent analytical skills; training from a recognized investment bank or consulting firm preferred
• Strong institutional relationships in North America

$110,000-$150,000 base pay range plus annual discretionary bonus. Hybrid role based out of Santa Monica, Pittsburgh, Chicago, or New York.
