Overview
  • Organize and facilitate project teams in completing deliverables according to schedule and in managing each project for successful overall outcomes.
  • Work with designated project teams, IT functions, and business team members to enable prioritized system capabilities.
  • Lead delivery across multiple concurrent project work streams, at different phases in their lifecycle. They must be comfortable with ambiguity and have strong ability to bring order and discipline to projects that engage many cross-functional stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Responsible for ensuring successful project execution from initiation to delivery, while acting as a key liaison between internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders across multiple geographically dispersed locations.
  • Key point of contact across multiple IT project work streams to ensure that dependencies are tracked, and risks escalated in a timely manner to the correct stakeholders. The candidate will report at a program level on the status of IT project work streams, the interdependencies and the risks.
  • Project scope involves GxP related changes and will be subject to Computer System Validation (CSV).
Job Functions
  • Fulfill Project Management responsibility through full delivery life cycle.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and cross-team dependencies.
  • Lead and coordinate phase gate reviews, ensuring all required deliverables, and cross functional inputs are prepared, evaluated, and approved to advance the project through each stage of the governance process.
  • Provide oversight and co-ordination of project activities across multiple teams (including vendor and delivery partners), ensuring alignment with overall project goals and objectives
  • Monitor progress on projects, identify potential risk and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Organize, plan, and facilitate business workshops to bring stakeholders together with different viewpoints for alignment
  • Provide input into areas of concern and direction or redirection to enhance achievement of schedules, productivity of goals, budgets, quality, and overall success of the project.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
  • Manage all aspects of project communication and ensure regular communication with all stakeholder groups in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Communicate regularly with key cross-functional stakeholders, including project sponsors, senior management and vendors across dispersed geographies and time-zones.
  • Run project performance management and governance ceremonies including steering, status reviews and stand-ups.
  • Independently develop and maintain requisite project management documentation to a high standard – in line with specified Kite / Gilead standards.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance to ensure IT compliance with deadlines across the PM community.
  • Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, organized, passionate, proactive in identifying and addressing potential challenges, and collaborative in driving solutions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Senior IT Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience OR Master's Degree and 6 years of experience.
  • Proven enterprise level experience enabling high performing dispersed and global teams across multiple locations and vendors.
  • Advanced proficiency in Project life cycles and approaches (i.e. waterfall, agile, iterative development).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with Unified Namespace (UNS) concepts and building data taxonomy/naming standards.
  • Experience deploying GxP projects and system integrations.
  • Understanding of Medical Affairs business function.
  • Experience in life-science industry.
  • PMP certification
