Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to accelerate our growing Education business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice, working closely with Education Technology companies. The role involves helping to shape and deliver a strategy for broad use of AWS services and leading technical engagement and success around specific projects. It requires deep expertise in AWS technologies, application architecture, and security.

• Own the technical engagement and success around specific projects.
• Define and design architectures, and develop deep expertise in AWS technologies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the EdTech markets.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.

• 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience working with end-user or developer communities.
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.
