Inhouse Lawyer - Commercial & Property Focus: $125k-140k plus super - Brisbane CBD
Hays has partnered with a respected and rapidly expanding national company to recruit an In-House Lawyer for their growing Brisbane legal team. Due to continued business expansion, this newly created position offers a rare opportunity to step into a varied and impactful role combining commercial advisory work along with exposure to property matters. Salary $125-140k plus super dependent on experience.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will join a small collaborative and high-performing in-house legal team, providing commercially minded advice across a broad range of operational and strategic matters. This role will support commercial functions while working closely with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Commercial drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
- Advising internal stakeholders on risk, compliance, governance and regulatory issues
- Supporting procurement, supplier management and business operations
- Assisting with process improvements, contract templates and legal frameworks
- Providing clear, practical and solutions-driven legal advice
- Property managing retail, commercial and industrial leasing matters
- Supporting property acquisitions, divestments and due diligence
- Advising on easements, access issues, licensing and operational property queries
- Liaising with internal property and project teams to ensure smooth transaction delivery
- Assisting with occasional development, titling or subdivision matters where required
The organisation is seeking a lawyer who demonstrates strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
Candidates from both private practice and in-house backgrounds will be considered.
Ideal Experience Includes- 3-6+ years' PQE in commercial law, ideally with some solid property exposure.
- Strong drafting and contract negotiation capabilities
- Ability to provide concise, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders
- Confidence managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to supporting organisational growth
- In-house experience is advantageous but not essential.
