Lead Porter

Position OverviewThe Lead Porter is a full‑time position responsible for providing work direction and supervising a crew of Porters in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of areas across Community Corp.’s portfolio. This includes daily cleaning tasks, restocking supplies, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents, employees, and visitors.
Compensation and Benefits- Pay Rate: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

- Prioritize work, provide direction, and supervise a crew of Porters.
- Track crew’s scheduled and completed work orders and synchronize with the work‑order tracking system.
- Perform on‑demand cleaning duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Maintenance and maintenance administrative staff.
- Clean lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, stairwells, and other common areas.
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Monitor and report maintenance issues such as broken fixtures, leaks, or hazards.
- Respond promptly to cleaning requests and spills throughout the day.
- Ensure floors are swept, mopped, and/or vacuumed per schedule.
- Clean glass doors, windows, and surfaces per schedule.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate needs to the Inventory Clerk.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide friendly and responsive customer service.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- At least 2 years of experience in janitorial, custodial, or porter work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Supervise assigned porter crew.
- Ability to crouch, climb, reach, and lift heavy items; walk properties daily in outdoor elements.
- Must be able to sit and use office equipment and computers.
- Must lift up to 50 pounds.
- Walking properties daily with exposure to outdoor elements.
- Regular car travel, primarily within Santa Monica to visit properties in the CCSM portfolio.
