Nurse Educator Periop Services - Professional Development

Position: RN Nurse Educator / Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

Providence Saint John's Health Center, Santa Monica, CA

Schedule:

Full‑time, 8‑hour day shifts

Pay Range: $57.28 - $88.92 per hour (base) plus potential additional compensation.

Supports training within the Perioperative Services department, fostering evidence‑based nursing care and staff development.

• Assess learning needs of bedside nurses and develop educational programs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Use simulation, interactive case‑based online teaching, and competency validation methods.
• Measure educational outcomes to evaluate effectiveness.
• Promote empowerment and excellence in nursing practice.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• California Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum 3 years Acute Care RN experience.
• Minimum 1 year of staff development experience.
• Within 2 years, hold Nursing Professional Development Board Certification or Nursing Education credential.
• Experience with simulation in healthcare.
• Experience with interactive, case‑based online teaching/learning methods.
• Experience with both knowledge and skills based competency validation.
• Experience with outcomes measurement to evaluate effectiveness of education.

• Master's Degree in Nursing or related professional development field.
• Additional specialty certification applicable to practice.
• At least 2 years in Operating Room and/or PACU specialization.
