Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California and BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills, with the ability to support patients and colleagues in a respectful, inclusive manner.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to infection prevention and safety protocols, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Previous experience in plastic surgery, ambulatory surgery centers, or similar procedural settings is highly desirable, but not necessary. We are willing to teach. We are looking for someone that works hard and wants to learn.
- This role is part‑time/as needed.
- The nurse will coordinate and manage patient care in the operating room, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative circulating/sedation responsibilities, and postoperative care/discharge.
- Daily responsibilities include: preparing the OR, preparing sedation medication, verifying patient identity and consent, verifying equipment and supplies, ensuring proper patient positioning, supporting the scrub team, and maintaining a sterile and organized environment.
- The nurse will assist with moderate sedation, monitor patient status and vital signs, and document all aspects of care accurately.
- Additional duties may include managing specimens, providing patient advocacy, maintaining detailed records in accordance with regulatory standards.
