Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Santa Monica, California.
POSITION OVERVIEWThis assignment is ideal for oncology nurses who are comfortable in an acute care setting and confident managing chemotherapy-related care, infusion therapy, central lines, blood products, and oncologic emergencies.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS- 13-week contract
- Day shift 3x12s (07:00–19:00)

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Administer and monitor chemotherapy
- Manage continuous infusion and oral chemotherapy workflows
- Provide IV therapy and infusion support
- Administer blood and blood products
- Care for ports and central/implanted lines
- Respond to oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression, extravasation injury, and acute tumor lysis syndrome
- Implement neutropenic precautions
- Support symptom management including altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy
- Document care in Epic EMR
- Acute care hospital
- 266 staffed beds

Navy Blue
- Minimum 1 year Oncology RN experience REQUIRED
- CA RN license must be in hand at submission
- BLS required
- Chemo (ONS/ONCC) preferred
- Chemo cert NOT REQUIRED
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, monitoring, and infusion therapy
- Experience with blood products, ports, and central line care
- Experience managing oncologic emergencies and symptom management
- Must meet 50-mile radius rule
- Locals accepted at lower rate
- RTO under 7 days strongly recommended to avoid delays
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day - Providence requires 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
- LA Fire Card within last 30 days required
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state if needed
- Only 1 Providence facility submission at a time
