Labor and Delivery Department Nurse Coastal Area. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy labor and delivery unit with a focus on high-risk pregnancies. The role includes monitoring fetal heart activity, assisting with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections, and delivering postpartum and newborn care.
Job Details- Position includes working in a 266-bed acute care hospital, supporting a high daily delivery volume of approximately 200 per month.
- Required qualifications include: at least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN Advanced Certification or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and proficiency in fetal heart monitoring.
- Schedule:
Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week. - Responsibilities include assisting with vaginal deliveries, circulating for Cesarean sections, working in an operating room during C-sections, and supporting high-risk pregnancy monitoring.
- Candidates should be flexible to float to postpartum units if needed and capable of working in sterile environments for C-section procedures.
- Candidates must include responses to specific questions about prior experience at similar facilities and provide two references covering at least one year within the last three years.
- RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at submission; no post-offer RTO requests will be considered.
- Must be licensed in the state or hold a valid compact license.
- No outpatient or administrative responsibilities are included in the role.
