- Capacity to float between labor and delivery and postpartum if needed
Description:
The labor and delivery unit consists of 4 antepartum rooms and 9 labor/high-risk rooms. There are 3 triage rooms on the unit. No on-call is required, but staff may float to postpartum if needed. Nurses will monitor fetal heart rates and high-risk pregnancies. Responsibilities include performing C-sections and vaginal deliveries. Postpartum duties are assigned only if necessary and include couplet care for newborns and mothers.
Occasional floating to other units is expected. The facility welcomes diverse experiences in perinatal nursing roles. Applicants should be comfortable working in an OR suite during C-sections. Daily census includes 200 deliveries per month, emphasizing patient privacy. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. The unit is designed for neonates, adolescents, and adults. Candidates should be open to accommodating block scheduling as per discretion.
Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays during the contract period. The facility offers a supportive environment and values patient care and safety.
