Job Description

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)

Cura Behavioral Health | Santa Monica, CA (Hybrid) | Full-Time, Permanent $155,000 – $165,000/year

Join a Practice Where Clinical Judgment Comes First

Cura Behavioral Health is a growing outpatient psychiatric practice built on one core belief: exceptional patient care starts with a supported, respected clinical team. We provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, TMS, Spravato, and other evidence-based treatments for adults navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and related conditions.

Our culture runs on compassion, unity, resilience, and advancement. Providers here aren't just executing protocols — they're exercising clinical judgment, shaping treatment plans, and helping shape the future of the practice itself.

We're looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who brings clinical rigor and genuine warmth to patient care, and who wants room to grow — professionally and clinically — within an expanding team.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up assessments
  • Diagnose and treat a range of behavioral and mental health conditions
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe psychiatric medications within your scope of practice
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, safety, and patient progress
  • Educate patients clearly on diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and levels of care
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR
  • Follow safe prescribing practices for controlled and non-controlled medications
  • Coordinate care with therapists, PCPs, specialists, and pharmacies as needed
  • Identify when patients would benefit from TMS, Spravato, psychotherapy, testing, or a higher level of care
  • Collaborate with our Medical Director and provider team through ongoing clinical consultation
  • Uphold HIPAA compliance and professional/ethical standards
  • Help build a supportive, collaborative clinical culture

What You Bring

Required:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
  • Current, unrestricted California RN license
  • Current, unrestricted California NP license
  • Current PMHNP Board Certification
  • Active DEA registration
  • California furnishing number and all credentials required to prescribe
  • 1+ year of experience as a PMHNP
  • Experience with outpatient psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and professional confidentiality standards
  • Ability to commute to our Santa Monica office as needed

Preferred:

  • Experience treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and related conditions in adults
  • Familiarity with TMS, Spravato, or other interventional psychiatric treatments
  • EHR proficiency
  • Interest in clinical leadership and practice development

We especially value: Compassionate communication, sharp clinical decision-making, a deep commitment to patient safety, cultural awareness, collaborative instincts, adaptability, and a genuine curiosity about emerging, evidence-based treatments.

Schedule & Location

  • Monday–Friday, full-time
  • Hybrid — in-person clinical days at our Santa Monica office, with flexibility built in to support work-life balance
  • Office: 1821 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 400, Santa Monica, CA 90403

Compensation & Benefits

  • $155,000–$165,000/year, based on experience
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Direct access to Medical Director consultation and clinical collaboration
  • Real opportunities for professional growth as the practice expands
