Merchandise Allocator

We’re hiring! Malbon is looking for an Allocator to join our team. This role will report into our Director of Planning and will be responsible for retail allocations. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented with a willingness to learn and implement new ideas, and will serve as an open communicator between retail, merchandising, planning, and operations.

Malbon HQ is based in Santa Monica, CA. We are currently operating from a hybrid work schedule of 3 days a week in‑office.

• Craft and manage an allocation plan that keeps retail locations stocked.
• Dive into sales forecasts, historical data and upcoming events to ensure products are where they need to be.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams (merchandising, ops, retail) to keep the product pipeline moving with efficiency.
• Devise strategies for optimal sell‑through.
• Fine‑tune and adjust allocations to meet demand while minimizing overstock and out‑of‑stock situations.
• Communicate trends and patterns from large data sets.

• 2+ years of buying/planning experience required.
• Advanced Excel and Retail Math knowledge.
• Shopify and Netsuite experience is a bonus.
• Previous experience managing inventory across multiple retail locations.
• Unafraid to speak up and try new strategies.
• Ability to analyse large data sets and clearly communicate findings to senior management.
• Excellent communicator who thrives in a cross‑functional environment.
• Willingness to travel periodically for new store openings preferred.

$70,000 - $75,000 a year

This is a full‑time position with an expected salary range of $70,000-$75,000. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job‑related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education/certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
