Mid to Senior Scala Engineer

About the Role

Who Co's mission is to support candidates, companies, and recruiters in what can often be a messy and difficult hiring process. We believe technology, when combined with a human touch, can transform that process and help make smarter and faster hiring decisions.

You’d be working with a small and enthusiastic team of Scala engineers (decades of full time Scala experience between us) who are building out an ecosystem built on ZIO, Neo4J, Elastic Search, and other technologies. The software itself uses a combination of graph databases and search engines to build out a complex search and recommendations system. The team enjoys learning new things, mentoring and ramping up new people.

You’d be expected to be the kind of person who enjoys diving deep into the plumbing, figuring out and implementing patterns and refactors.

ZIO / graph database experience is NOT required upfront. Ideally, you’d understand quite a bit about Scala, building concurrent applications, HTTP APIs, relational databases, and a developer’s knowledge of cloud architecture. If you’re particularly enthusiastic about learning Scala, we’ve ramped up people from Scala-adjacent backgrounds, though you’d be expected to start diving in from Day 1.
