AboutThe Position
As our SDET you will be part of a growing team that is building the most exciting live event technology company on the planet. You will report directly to the Director of QA and will collaborate directly with the CTO, software developers, product owners and other senior team members to solve problems and deliver the highest caliber product to our powerful and influential clients.
You will have the benefit of extensive autonomy to explore and innovate for the betterment of our products.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Java, Selenium, RESTful APIs, MySQL, Couchbase, and thrives in a fast-paced development environment. This role will ensure both functional and non-functional quality, integrating deeply into CI/CD pipelines and leveraging tools for live system observability.

Work-LifeThis role is 100% remote with an optional work environment at our Santa Monica office, located on the 3rd Street Promenade. Most teams run West Coast Hours with lots of autonomy. At this time we are only able to hire US Citizens or active US Green Card holders.
Responsibilities- Drive shift-left testing practices by collaborating early in the development lifecycle and ensuring quality from the initial design phase.
- Collaborate with software developers, dev-ops, and product teams to define test strategies that support CI/CD.
- Design and develop automated test suites using Java, Selenium, REST-assured, and Postman for UI and API layers.
- Validate data integrity across MySQL and Couchbase databases.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions.
- Use New Relic and logs to monitor application behavior, detect anomalies, verify deployments and diagnose issues discovered.
- Develop and manage test data, mocking tools, and automation utilities.
- Troubleshoot flaky or failing tests and drive reliability improvements.
- Support environment setup and configuration for automated testing across dev, test, staging, and production environments.
- Conduct and support non-functional testing efforts, including:
Performance testing (load, stress, scalability), Security testing (vulnerability scanning, basic threat validation) - Reliability and availability verification through monitoring tools
- Execute test plans, and checklists to verify the functionality and performance of new features and services.
- Create end-to-end test cases, record test results, generate detailed findings/bugs.
- Participate in agile ceremonies with a QA mindset.
- Work with engineering and cross-departmental teams to identify test requirements.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of QA test automation framework for Web, Mobile, and APIs.
- Learn, adhere to, and improve QA processes.
- Work independently to solve problems with minimal supervision.
- Become well versed and understand the full Tixr software stack.
- Support all employees by addressing questions or concerns in a timely manner.
- Foster a Quality culture.
- 2-4 years of experience as full-time SDET with strong emphasis on Software Quality Engineering.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript and experience with Selenium Web Driver, quick to learn and adapt to other programming languages as needed.
- Proficient in REST-assured and Postman for API automation.
- Experience designing and executing end-to-end test cases including front-end, API, and database layers (MySQL and Couchbase) as part of full stack flows.
- Familiar with CI/CD driven quality gates.
- Hands-on experience with New Relic or equivalent observability tools.
- Experience designing and executing non-functional tests such as performance or load testing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of software testing methodology and best practices.
- Proven experience working in Agile Scrum environments, utilizing Agile management tools such as JIRA for sprint planning, issue tracking, and collaboration.
- Experience with Git software version control.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
