Job Title: Software Engineer, Automation and Data – Central Technology (Temporary)

Activision Central Technology is seeking a Software Engineer focused on automation and data engineering to help enhance our games. Automated tests detect defects, support developers, and increase coverage, reducing QA burden.

This role is hybrid, with the home studio in Santa Monica, CA.

• Collaborate with automation and data engineers to enhance, evaluate, and scale automated testing features.
• Improve tools and workflows for efficient test development, data analysis, and debugging.
• Support Activision studios globally in designing automation strategies and developing automated tests to identify defects.
• Analyze results, increase automated coverage, and maintain infrastructure for performance, stability, and data integrity.
• Create tools to boost QA productivity, research new techniques, and work with QA leadership to plan and evolve processes.

• Minimum of 3 years of programming experience with Python, and C++ or C#.
• Proficiency programming with SQL.
• Experience developing test frameworks.
• Proficiency in data engineering and analytics.
• Experience working in a distributed systems environment.
• Experience working within gaming.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of online services, Dev Ops, and cloud infrastructure.
• Deep grasp of computer architecture, networks, and operating systems.

• Strong passion for automation and software testing.
• Self‑motivated with a strong sense of independence.

• Experience developing console games.
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in a management or leadership position.
• Familiarity with QA methodologies.
• Knowledge of Git, Puppet, Grafana, Perforce, Linux, Flask.
• Passion for video games, especially FPS games.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $79,200.00 – $ annual. This represents the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Your specific range and offer will be based on experience, performance, and location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
