Job Duties
Santa Monica College is accepting applications for Assistant Softball Coach. Duties include assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of planning and supervision of team practices and games, team strength/conditioning programs, game scheduling when needed, and assisting with the team eligibility processes. You may also teach varsity sport and kinesiology classes as assigned. In season, assistant will be required to travel with the team to all away games and tournaments.
Position is part time and starts August 29th 2022, Fall practice is twice a week, then the number of days will increase for both the Winter and Spring Semesters.
Minimum Qualifications
Any bachelor's degree AND two years coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level
OR
Any Associate's degree AND six years coaching experience at the collegiate level or the equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of softball coaching. Skill, technique and mechanics development, and how to implement the progression required to improve the athletes performance including both physical and mental wellbeing. To understand game management, and NCAA current rules. Applicant must have coaching experience at a competitive level. A combination of collegiate, high school, or Travel Ball level is permitted and will be taken into consideration along with education level
