Work Schedule: Hybrid Remote | Approximately 3–4 Days Per Month On‑Site

Compensation: $70,000–$102,000 annually

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Grant Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of grant funding for a mission-driven organization. This position is responsible for ensuring effective grant administration, financial oversight, regulatory compliance, reporting, and coordination across multiple programs and funding sources.

This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with program leadership, accounting, executive leadership, a Grant Writer, and external funding agencies. The Grant Manager will oversee grant budgets and expenditures, monitor compliance and reporting requirements, analyze grant performance, and help identify new funding opportunities.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of grant management, financial analysis, accounting, compliance, and project management experience and is comfortable managing multiple county, state, and federal grants

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the lifecycle and administration of county, state, and federal grants.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable grant requirements, regulations, reporting standards, and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive tracking system for grants, including reporting requirements, compliance obligations, deadlines, and due dates.
  • Maintain accurate and organized files for all grants and contracts.
  • Ensure required forms, approvals, and signatures are obtained for new grants.
  • Prepare and submit required grant reports accurately and on time.
  • Serve as a primary contact with funding agencies regarding accounting, budget, and compliance matters.
  • Assist with grant audits and compliance reviews as needed.
  • Provide financial oversight of grant funds, including routine monitoring, grant budgets, budget amendments, budget change forms, and related documentation.
  • Monitor and account for grant expenditures and ensure required financial reports are completed in accordance with grant guidelines.
  • Analyze grant-related transactions, including salaries and wages charged to grants, to ensure costs are allowable and compliant with applicable requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies or necessary adjustments and communicate required actions to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare monthly grant performance reports, including fund utilization, remaining available funds, actual-to-budget comparisons, and variance analysis.
  • Provide recommendations based on grant performance and financial results.
  • Prepare reimbursement invoices to granting agencies or organizations when required.
  • Assist with monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting process.
  • Enter and maintain grant budgets and updates within the accounting system.
Grant Development & Funding Opportunities
  • Manage and coordinate with the Grant Writer to ensure grant applications and renewals are submitted on time.
  • Collaborate in the preparation, development, and submission of grant proposals and renewals.
  • Research county, state, and federal grant opportunities and identify potential funding sources for programs and projects.
  • Evaluate projects and initiatives for potential grant eligibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Meet regularly with program and department staff to review grant performance, fund utilization, available balances, and budget variances.
  • Interpret and communicate grant regulations, administrative requirements, and policies to internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • Work with program staff to ensure funding budgets and modifications remain accurate and current.
  • Maintain accurate grant and contract information in grant management and accounting systems.
  • Develop a working knowledge of broader accounting department functions and provide support as needed.
Qualifications Required
  • Three or more years of experience in grant development, grant management, administration, financial oversight, or planning.
  • Experience with Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Uniform Guidance and Single Audit Act requirements preferred.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
