Airport Administrative Coordinator

Join the Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS) as an Administrative Coordinator! Starting salary up to $46.45/hour ($96,946/year) plus a competitive total compensation package!

The Airport Administrative Coordinator position provides essential administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Charles M. Schulz–Sonoma County Airport (STS). Under the direction of the Airport Administrative Manager, and in support of Airport activities, the position serves as the Airport executive management's primary administrative coordinator. Responsibilities include providing day-to-day training, guidance, and onboarding assistance to office support staff, and assisting management with performance observations, coaching, and recommendations to support staff development and effective team operations.

Responsibilities of the position also include:

  • Coordinating front desk operations and administrative workflows with the Senior Office Assistant team to ensure consistent, timely, and responsive customer service
  • Supporting Aviation Commission administrative functions, including Brown Act compliance, agenda preparation, public noticing, agenda packet development, meeting logistics, official records, minutes coordination, and post-meeting follow-up
  • Coordinating the preparation, review, and routing of Board of Supervisors agenda materials, reports, resolutions, presentations, and supporting documentation while managing review schedules and critical deadlines
  • Maintaining official Airport administrative records, document retention systems, standardized templates, and operating procedures that promote regulatory compliance, consistency, and organizational continuity
  • Coordinating recurring reports, correspondence, and administrative documentation required to support FAA, TSA, DOT, California Division of Aeronautics, and other regulatory requirements
  • Administering the Airport's aircraft noise concern reporting program and maintaining related data and reporting systems
  • Participating in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Airport administrative and operational technology systems, including Microsoft 365, Aerosimple, Humanity, Power BI, Casper Noise Management, GIS applications, electronic records systems, and other specialized aviation technologies
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve administrative processes, office efficiency, customer service, and overall organizational effectiveness
  • Supporting purchasing documentation, contract routing, and other related administrative processes

As the ideal candidate for this position, you are a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, customer service-oriented environment. You demonstrate sound judgment and possess many of the following:

  • Experience working in an office environment providing high-volume customer service
  • The ability to coordinate multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced public agency environment
  • The ability to understand organizational priorities, effectively manage competing demands, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and editing complex and detailed internal and public-facing documents
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to exercise sound professional judgment, maintain accuracy, and take initiative to improve administrative processes
  • The ability to interact professionally and effectively with elected officials, regulatory agencies, consultants, airport tenants, airlines, community stakeholders, and the traveling public while maintaining confidentiality
  • Proficiency with current Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport is the North Bay's commercial service airport and the fastest-growing regional airport. The Airport is projected to serve more than one million annual passengers in 2026 and supports scheduled passenger service, corporate and general aviation, air cargo, law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, aerial firefighting, flight training, and more than 300 based aircraft.

The Airport is advancing significant capital improvement, planning, air service development, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives, and the Airport Administrative Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting these efforts and helping the Airport achieve its long-term vision. STS is the only local airport that offers air service directly into the North Bay region. As a commercial service airport, STS supports up to 21 flights per day, with facilities for airline passenger services, cargo, private and corporate flights, recreational aircraft, law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, firefighting aircraft, and pilot training.
