Salary $100,000 - $140,000 per year

As a family-owned and operated Public Works Contractor with over 25 years of experience building across Northern California, we ve established ourselves as a leader in design-build and lease-back projects for schools and universities, including Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, Berryessa Union School District, Pleasanton Unified School District, San Leandro Unified School District, and San Rafael Elementary School District.

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team, focusing on educational and other public-sector construction projects in the local area. The Estimator will play a critical role in preparing thorough, competitive cost estimates that guide project planning and bidding. You will analyze architectural and engineering drawings, coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, and compile detailed proposals. Collaborating closely with project managers and field teams, you will ensure accurate budgets and cost control from preconstruction through project completion.

• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate subcontractor and supplier bids and proposals
• Prepare detailed, accurate bid packages and proposals for educational and public-sector projects
• Develop preliminary schedules and budgets to support project planning
• Collaborate with project management, operations, and engineering teams to refine scope and costs
• Analyze historical data and market trends to maintain competitive pricing models
• Assist in value engineering and risk assessment processes
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders regarding estimates and project requirements
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and correspondence

• 3+ years of estimating experience with educational construction projects (DSA/K-12)
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs relevant to public-sector building projects
• Proven ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare competitive bids
• Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers, including bid solicitation and evaluation
• Familiarity with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
