Job Overview
This position supports schools and districts across Sonoma County in delivering high-quality English Language Arts (ELA) and English Language Development (ELD) instruction for TK–12 students, with a strong focus on equitable outcomes for all learners. A successful candidate will have experience and a deep knowledge of ELA, ELD, and literacy development, including a strong understanding of the California ELA and ELD Standards, the California English Learner Roadmap, and familiarity with evidence-based practices such as the Science of Reading and Integrated/Designated ELD.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Language & Literacy Project Coordinator will design and facilitate engaging, research‑aligned professional learning and support school and district leaders in building systems that promote culturally and linguistically responsive instruction. Responsibilities include coaching educators, modeling effective instructional practices, analyzing disaggregated data, and guiding implementation of comprehensive literacy and language initiatives.

- A copy of a valid California Teaching Credential and a valid California Administrative Services Credential.

- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is desired.
- Experience in positions with progressively increasing responsibility and professional experience in the field of education.
- Experience in staff development and/or in‑service training.
- Experience in site and district leadership is highly desired.
- Experience in leading professional learning.
- Valid California Multiple Subjects or Single Subject English Teaching Credential is preferred.
- Valid California Administrative Services Credential is required and must be in place by July 1, 2026.
- Requirement:
Appropriate California Administrative Services credential by July 1, 2026. - Site or District level leadership is highly desired.
