Credential Requirements:
Moderate/Severe Disabilities Education Specialist Instruction Credential with EL authorization. Certificate Copy CBEST, CSET English Learner Authorization CLAD (EL authorization) DESIRED:
Knowledge of teaching methods and instructional strategies appropriate to a variety of disabilities, especially for those students with more intensive needs. Provides instruction on an individual or small group basis as needed or specified in the pupil's individual education plan. Monitor and assess student progress on a regular basis. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents and community.
Coordinate Special Education services with general education for individuals with exceptional needs. Arrange and conduct parent conferences assuring parent awareness of student progress, enlisting parent cooperation and involvement in program planning and development. Participate in continuous evaluation and upgrading of the school's Special Education program. Arrange and conduct parent conferences.
