The Community Child Care Council is looking for a n Associate Te acher to join the 4

Cs team . The i deal candidate wi ll work closely with the Site Supervisor to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum , and perform other program related tasks, including the completion of child assessments and parent conferences . Associate Teachers are supervised by the Site Supervisor .

• Monitor specific children’s progressive learning skills,document records of learning activities.
  
  Assess children using the required assessment tools.
• Create and implement developmentally appropriate program curriculum, integrating both individual and group information from the required assessment tool (DRDP-R) in the planning process.
• Design and implement fun, flexible, and interactive circle time activities that capture children’s interest and promote participation. Circle time should support learning goals while allowing for creativity and adaptability based on the needs of the children.
• Collaborate and partner with the teachingteamincluding assistants andapprenticesin documenting children’s developmental progress.
  
  Support and guide planning process, fostering a collaborative and empowering environment for the entire team’s professional growth.
• Comply withall funder and licensing regulations (Title 5 and Title 22).
• In the absence of the Site Supervisor,may supervise Apprentices, Assistants, and substitutes.
• Supervise and monitor children’s activities and behavior using a relationship-based approach that emphasizes individual learning needs and flexibility, recognizing that a supportive and adaptable approach is critical in ensuring the children’s physical and environmental safety, while fosteringappropriateand positive development.
• Demonstrate positive attitude, language, and body language that reflects support and respect to the entirecentercommunity: families, children, co-workers, and community partners.
• Help to plan and coordinate parent activities.
• Help tomaintaincenter buildings and grounds.
• Provide input on program goals andparticipatein an annual program evaluation (ECERS/ITERS, CLASS).
• Build positive relationships with parents and children to fostersocialemotional growth anddevelopmentand learning.
• Support children’s social and emotional development through the direct teaching of emotion literacy, emotion regulation, and problem-solving strategies, and friendship skills.
• Diapering anduseage-appropriate toilet learning strategies.
• Partner with parents to support toilet learning.
• Attend andparticipatein staff meetings and in-service training as scheduled.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required, Spanish, desired.
• Ability to work well with people from various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
• Criminal record clearance (Livescan).
• Current certification in CPR and Pediatric First Aid.
• Must meet all relevant funding and licensing requirements (CA CCL, Title 22, Title
  5).

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Child Development Associate Teacher Permit issued by CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing–Required.
• Minimum1 year experience.
• For those working with children aged 2-3 years, completion of an additional
  3.00-unit Infant Toddler course is required.
