Position Summary

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to support Die Fab and Thin Film manufacturing operations within HFTC. This role focuses on capacity analysis, tool productivity, WIP flow, and cycle time improvement in a high-mix semiconductor manufacturing environment.

The Industrial Engineer partners closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Manufacturing Systems to analyze factory performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support implementation efforts that increase throughput, reduce cycle time, and improve delivery predictability.

Key Responsibilities

Support capacity analysis for Die Fab (laser & saw, chip sort, visual inspection, outgoing quality) and Thin Film manufacturing areas.
  • Analyze tool availability, utilization, and constraint behavior to identify throughput limitations.
  • Assist with short and midrange capacity scenarios to support production planning and operational decision-making.
  • Partner with operations and engineering teams to validate assumptions and ensure analyses reflect real factory behavior.
  • Flow, WIP, and Cycle Time Improvement:
Analyze WIP movement, queue times, and line balance across Die Fab and Thin Film operations.
  • Support cycle time and flow improvement initiatives, particularly across handoffs between process steps and inspection/sort operations.
  • Perform before/after analysis to confirm improvements translate into measurable factory results.
  • Industrial Engineering Systems & Analytics:
Build and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize capacity, WIP, and cycle time performance.
  • Maintain and improve ERP, MES, and manufacturing data systems to perform recurring and ad hoc analysis.
  • Support requirements definition, testing, and validation for industrial engineering, ERP, or reporting system enhancements.
  • Ensure data structures, routings, and master data in ERP align with actual factory processes and support accurate planning and reporting.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing analytics, or operations support.
  • Working knowledge of capacity analysis and basic constraint identification.
  • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and tool productivity fundamentals.
  • ERP and MES data structures and how they impact capacity, WIP, and flow.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SPC, statistical analysis, or structured problem solving.
  • Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience building repeatable reports or dashboards used by operations teams.
