* Duties & Responsibilities:

**** Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern
** VIAVI Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern to support engineering activities related to vacuum chamber optical coating systems and handheld spectroscopy products. This internship provides hands-on exposure to mechanical design, CAD modeling, engineering documentation, and internal engineering systems within a collaborative product development environment.
** Responsibilities
* ** Assist engineers with mechanical design and CAD modeling using Solid Works
* Support development and maintenance of engineering drawings and documentation
* Participate in prototype evaluation, fit checks, and design reviews
* Help maintain internal engineering systems, records, and technical documentation
* Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on product development activities
* Support ongoing engineering and continuous improvement projects
** Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
**** Qualifications
* ** Currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
* Targeting 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate students
* Familiarity with CAD software, preferably Solid Works
* Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Interest in precision mechanical systems and product development
