Engineering Division Manager

Job Summary

Lead the Engineering Division overseeing Construction, Design, Materials Lab, Land Development, Survey, and Traffic sections. Manage staff and engineering activities, focus on fiscal accountability, create performance goals, and deliver road and bridge capital projects.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of public works staff involved in design, land development, survey, traffic, and construction for bridges and highways.
  • Develop and manage budgets, program goals, and performance objectives for the division.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for road and bridge construction, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Implement Caltrans processes for all project types, including major capital projects.
  • Lead leadership and engineering activities, providing effective management and technical guidance.
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of requirements concerning design, construction, and inspection of federal, state, and local funded road and bridge projects.
  • Working knowledge of the Caltrans project process.
  • Considerable experience in modern budget, program, and systems management.
  • Experience supervising and coordinating engineering staff across multiple sections.
  • State of California Civil Engineering License (required).

Eligibility
