This role is part of the High Frequency Technology Center (HFTC) at our Headquarters in Santa Rosa, CA. HFTC is part of Keysight's Advanced Technology Labs, the core R&D organization that enables Centers of Excellence and other business groups to provide RF, microwave, mmWave, 5G and 6G solutions to customers in various industries, including communications, aerospace & defense, automotive & energy, and semiconductor industries.
HFTC technologies include InP and GaAs‑based HBTs, HEMTs, and diodes, as well as high‑frequency System in Package (SiP) solutions.
The IC Product Engineering group acts as a vital link between the design, process, and test teams, and the product line and customers. We ensure that high‑quality ICs are delivered to our customers and that our product lines remain operational and efficient.
Our team is expanding and we're looking for a self‑driven and proactive engineer who takes strong ownership of their work and consistently drives projects to completion. The ideal candidate communicates clearly and effectively, partners well with customers, operations, and cross‑functional engineering teams, and is comfortable facilitating technical discussions among diverse stakeholders. This role requires sound judgment, strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
The primary responsibilities of an IC Product Engineer include:
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including design, process, and test engineering to ensure product yield, performance, and reliability
- Support IC platforms through electrical and reliability test and visual inspection
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to improve product quality
- Lead new circuit introduction by ensuring new products meet performance, quality, and manufacturability standards
- Analyze and interpret test data to identify trends, improve yield and drive continuous improvement
- Provide technical support to customers and address product‑related issues
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in IC technology
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
- Familiarity with semiconductor device physics (BJTs, FETs) and circuit design principles
- Hands‑on experience with RF measurement for IC validation and failure analysis (i.e., s‑parameters, noise figure, phase noise, time‑domain measurements, etc.)
- Knowledge of reliability engineering and failure analysis techniques is a significant plus
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proven leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion
- Experience with data analysis and statistical tools
