Commercial Construction Estimator; Northern Cali

Job Overview

We are looking for a Commercial Construction Estimator to create accurate estimates and design documents for new construction projects, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and customer requirements.

• Create estimates for new work and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Generate detailed design documents and blueprints for cabinets and other products.
• Produce visual images of the new layout for customer approval.
• Work closely with customers to gather specific needs and design configuration.
• Visit customer sites to verify measurements and perform preliminary safety inspections.
• Create CAD drawings of the proposed design.
• Verify estimates contain correct products and quantities.
• Recommend changes to the design and incorporate customer requests.
• Review estimates with the sales team to ensure data accuracy.
• Modify estimates per customer or sales manager requests.
• Provide estimates on change orders for current projects.
• Respond to customer and sales team questions regarding estimate and design details.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism and integrity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform complex calculations and “what if” analyses.
• Capability to calculate square footage, detailed measurements and reconfigure measurements for design changes.
• Proficiency in creating and modifying take‑offs for large projects.

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Valid driver’s license if operating a company vehicle.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction, insulation or related trades.
• Experience creating quotes or estimates.
• Experience in design of rooms and use of CAD software.
• Preferred: certified design credentials.
• Proficient in Office software (word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation).
• Experience with ERP applications, preferably Oracle.
