Our roughly 14,000 employees create world‑class solutions in wireless communications, 5G, automotive, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Keysight is recognized as a Great Place to Work worldwide and emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and integrity.

This position is based in Santa Rosa, California, a beautiful area nestled in the Sonoma Valley wine country in the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

Responsibilities

As an IC Test Engineer, you will help Keysight be first to market, focusing on top opportunities and market trends that address unmet needs. You will support the characterization, validation, and production readiness of Keysight's advanced RF and mixed‑signal integrated circuits and modules. This role spans both detailed characterization and high‑throughput screening, requiring a balance between analysis and efficient, repeatable test execution.

You will primarily craft on‑wafer microwave and millimeter‑wave measurement solutions, combining hands‑on instrumentation work with development of automated test and data analysis tools to improve accuracy, repeatability, and overall test efficiency.

  • Test Development:
Define test strategies, methodologies, and automated test programs for RF and mixed‑signal ICs, supporting both prototype characterization and production screening.
  • Automation and Tools:
Develop and maintain software for instrument control, data acquisition, and workflow automation.
  • Test Execution:
Perform primarily on‑wafer microwave and millimeter‑wave measurements using RF instrumentation and custom test setups to evaluate device performance and functionality.
  • Data Analysis:
Analyze measurement data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance limitations, and provide clear insights to support design and production decisions.
  • Debugging:
Troubleshoot test and measurement issues, working with cross‑functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement:
Drive improvements in test efficiency, repeatability, and data quality through enhanced workflows, automation, and measurement techniques.
  • Documentation:
Maintain clear documentation of test methods, tools, results, and corrective actions to support development and manufacturing.
  • Screening and Production Support:
Execute and optimize high‑mix, low‑volume screening workflows, including test bring‑up, yield analysis, and test flow efficiency.
Qualifications

Education:

B.S., M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with thesis work and/or relevant internship or industry experience in mm‑wave IC (MMIC) characterization.

  • RF Characterization of active and passive components (e.g. Reflection Coefficient, Matching, TOI, P1dB, Noise Figure, etc.).
  • Expertise using test and measurement equipment (e.g. a network analyzer, signal source, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
  • Test setup calibration and integrated circuit measurements.
  • Software development with object‑oriented languages and an IDE.

A strong candidate will also have:

  • Expertise in automating electrical test.
  • Experience with wafer‑level probing and test.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in IC testing.
  • Knowledge in semiconductor device physics and manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in RF and analog integrated circuit design and analysis.
  • Knowledge in statistical analysis and process improvement.
  • Experience programming in C#, .NET, and Visual Studio.
  • Experience in PCB design.
  • Experience in mechanical design with CAD tools.
  • Experience with Keysight ADS or equivalent tools.

A successful person in this job will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem‑solving, time‑management, and communication skills to work in a dynamic environment as part of multiple teams working on multiple projects.
  • Be highly motivated to accomplish all the tasks required to meet aggressive product development schedules and world‑class manufacturing…
