Experienced Aviation Planner

Mead & Hunt is looking for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem‑solver who wants to build a dynamic career in aviation planning with a nationally recognized company. This position will lead aviation planning projects in Mead & Hunt's nationwide aviation planning practice. • Leading complex projects and teams
• Managing client and team relationships
• Seeking marketing opportunities to attract clients and obtain work
• Administering contracts and profitability of assigned projects
• Preparing airport planning documents and technical studies
• Facilitating client, stakeholder and public meetings
• Coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration and other government agencies

Travel will be required. A valid driver's license is required.

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in aviation planning, environmental planning, sustainability planning, transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience

• Planning experience at airports of multiple market sizes, including medium and large markets
• Serving as a project manager for complex projects, including preparing and monitoring budgets, and overall responsibility for the profitability of assigned projects
• Performing lead functions with client contacts and communications pertaining to specific projects
• Leading research, analysis, and creation of aviation planning documents such as master plans, terminal area plans, aviation system plans, strategic plans, economic impact studies, Part 150 noise compatibility studies, aviation sustainability plans, and/or environmental assessments
• Technical expertise in airfield/airside, landside, or terminal planning and programming
• Leading business development pursuits and project interviews
• Simulation modeling for aircraft operations, airfield vehicle movements, and/or airline passengers
• Mentorship/leadership of project teams and junior planning staff
• Managing client and public communications
• In-depth knowledge of FAA guidance and regulations
• Experience working with clients and project stakeholders
• Active industry involvement
• AICP, AIA, AAAE, CM, PE or other relevant certification

Salary Range: $117,000 - $156,000 annually; actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as experience, skill set, or location.
