Responsibilities- Apply engineering principles, measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document and maintain calibration systems, procedures and methods for dimensional inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy and precision requirements.
- Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures.
- Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes.
- Maintain calibration laboratory and/or departmental accreditation, and quality system.
- Develop and validate unique/new measurement applications and methodologies.
- Develop measurement methods and techniques for new products using state‑of‑the‑art contact and non‑contact measuring equipment and related software.
- Monitoring, calibrating, setup, training and operation of measurement equipment.
- Evaluate new tools and/or software.
- Troubleshooting causes of process failures and out of control/spec conditions.
- Work closely with personnel responsible for other processes and organizations.
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, other applicable engineering/science discipline or equivalent.
- Strong technical writing capability and solid communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills, commitment to task, creativity in problem solving.
- Work collaboratively to solve difficult technical problems.
- Familiarity with Windows OS, PC architecture.
- In‑depth knowledge of mechanical and dimensional measurements.
- Be familiar with the ISO 17025 and/or Z‑540 standards and the process of accreditation.
- Have knowledge and interest in the field of metrology and associated activities such as Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Statistics and precision physical dimensional measurements.
- Ability to develop an uncertainty budget in accordance with the GUM method.
Pay Range: USD $93,050.00 – USD $ per year
