Description
Deposition Sciences Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, is seeking a motivated Materials and Process Engineer to support the Thin Film Coating Business. The successful candidate will:
- Serve as the technical representative to generate a Customer Proposal
- Collaborate with Program Management to create a Project Plan with Budget and Timeline Justification
- Create New Thin Film Coating Design for Novel Customer Applications
- Provide Technical Guidance to early‑career Engineers and Technicians
- Order, analyze, and interpret In‑Process Metrology Data to determine Process Adjustments
- Lead Technical Discussions with Customers to develop requirements for new applications
- Compare Metrology Data to Customer Specifications to evaluate Fitness for Use
- Promote a culture of working in a collaborative Team Environment
- Solve unusually complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions
- Expert in Thin Film coating Designs and Materials and Process Troubleshooting
- Expertise in Sputtered Thin Films Design, Processes, and Equipment
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Experience Creating and Presenting Technical Content
- Statistical Methods and Design of Experiments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
- Provide Technical Direction for Engineers leading their projects
- Planning and Leading Projects to meet established requirements
- Experience Operating Optical Spectrometer and interpreting the results
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Experience Creating and Presenting Technical Content
- Statistical Methods and Design of Experiments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
- Provide Technical Direction for Engineers leading their projects
- Planning and Leading Projects to meet established requirements
- Experience Operating Optical Spectrometer and interpreting the results
- Comfortable taking Calculated Risks and learning from failures with a Growth Mindset
- Programming experience and Visual Basic Macro Scripting or similar analysis software
- Experience with Evaporated Thin Films and the equipment to produce these films
- Advanced Degree in related technical field
- Experience with SEM, XRF measurements and the interpretation of the results
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.
Work ArrangementsOnsite Full‑time.
Schedule:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
Annual base salary range: $122,900 – $216,660 (in California, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC).
