• Design and implement optical filters to meet customer requirements for consumer electronics, biomedical devices, gas monitoring, fluorescence microscopy, astronomy, light sensing, and projection display applications.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for optical coatings, including optical coating design, substrate preparation, substrate/wafer handling, vacuum-based deposition such as sputter coating, and post‑coating optical metrology.

• Minimum B.S. in Material Science, Physical, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Optical Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interaction skills.
• Analytical thinker; detail oriented; problem solver.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Experience in vacuum engineering, vacuum processes, thin film deposition, and optics (highly desirable).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
• Graduate or advanced degree preferred.
• Expertise in Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
• Familiarity with a cleanroom work environment.
• Programming skills, especially MATLAB or similar tools.
• Project management experience.

• Pay range: $101,500 to $188,500 (Exceptional qualifications, experience, and location may impact salary).
