Material & Process Engineer

Create new thin film coating designs for customer applications. Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Collaborate with Program Management to create a project plan, budget, and schedule. Provide program/project work instructions to early career engineers and production technicians. Support operations team from equipment setup, calibration, through production. Order, analyze, and interpret in-process metrology data to determine process adjustments.

Compare metrology data to customer specifications to evaluate fitness for use. Review customer requirements documents to support the technical customer proposal content. Meet with customers for collaborative discussions and design presentations. Promote a collaborative team environment.

Experienced in thin film coating designs and materials. Experience with sputtered thin films design, processes, and equipment. Roll to roll deposition and/or converting experience. Familiar with thin film design and expertise in one or more thin film design tools: TFCalc, Opti Layer, Film Star, Film Wizard. Statistical methods and design of experiments. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
