This position is located in the Santa Rosa Office. Under the close supervision of the Business Taxes Administrator (BTA) I, the Tax Technician (TT) I performs the less complex technical duties and support functions for the unit. Responsibilities include applying laws, rules and policies relating to the CDTFA’s programs, issuing permits, performing account maintenance, initiating contact with taxpayers about delinquencies, accessing taxpayer information, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and handling sensitive or confidential mail and/or material.
Travel may be required up to five percent of the time for training purposes.
This position is designated to receive additional compensation each month per Pay Differential 186, which will require the team member to perform taxpayer counter services at least fifty percent of the time. This includes assisting taxpayers with registration, account maintenance, and filing returns over the phone, online, or in person, and assisting taxpayers on calls received through the Customer Service Center/800 Number, Collection Split Line.
Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.
Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all CDTFA salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California’s Personal Leave Program.
